A Message from
AVP JAY STEPHENS
We have arrived in a new year and it certainly has been exciting! We have seen unprecedented weather here in the Boise area, we have a new President of the United States coming into office and we are seeing a lot of new faces on campus, from new students to new faculty and staff.
Weather conditions have created numerous challenges for campus and I would like to recognize the outstanding effort of our facilities, campus public safety staff and others who have worked so hard to battle Snowpocalypse 2017. What an amazing effort! Each day during the snowfall I observed our colleagues out in the cold driving equipment and with tools in hand. I saw the weariness on the faces of the folks in the Emergency Operations Center as they spent long hours here on campus. Thank you to all of you.
Transition in the office of President of the United States has all of us in HR in a state of anticipation as a new Congress and the President-elect have expressed the desire for changes to, or a repeal of the Affordable Care Act and other federal laws and regulations, many of which have the potential to impact us. President-elect Trump has also signaled he may look at the recently proposed FLSA regulations which are currently under injunction.
We have new students, new faculty and new staff here on campus that we welcome. To those who are new to the area, I am told this weather is not normal at all! We look forward to interacting with you and serving you. We have new faces in HR and we are bringing in more! It feels like a flurry of hiring here but we are so excited to bring on more talented people to join our team to work with all of us in serving you.
