Position Summary

The Graduate College is responsible for the management of admissions, degree progress, graduation and student records related to these aspects of graduate education. Working closely with colleges, departments, programs, and offices across campus, our mission is to provide an experience that supports excellence and student success while ensuring a culture of integrity and a commitment to diversity in all its forms.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Provides front-line customer service and specialized information regarding Graduate College rules, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Answers phones, screens and routes calls, takes messages, and schedules appointments.
  • Assists individual in securing services.
  • Questions visitors to determine needs or purpose of visit and interviews students to obtain program-related data.
  • Performs a variety of office support functions such as filing, producing labels, forms, and routine letters; verifying completeness of applications and forms; maintaining record systems.
  • Explains eligibility or compliance requirements and programs available.
  • Responds in writing to request for pertinent program information.
Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have experience:

  • Questioning customers to obtain detailed information in a business setting;
  • Independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting;
  • Answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette;
  • Reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness;
  • Accessing data using a computerized records system.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Attention to detail; 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; 
  • Exemplary customer service skills; 
  • Ability to work with and relate to a diverse group; 
  • Able to maintain confidentiality;  
  • Two years of experience in the same type of work.
Salary

$10.16 per hour -Plus Competitive Benefits!

The Boise State University 2016 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is provided to students, faculty, staff, and the public as part of the University’s commitment to safety and security on campus, and in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. Copies of the report may also be requested through the Campus Security and Police Services located at 2245 University Drive, Boise, Idaho 83706, by calling (208) 426-6911, or sending an email to policeuniversitysecurity@boisestate.edu.
