Boise State University, Human Resource Services is proud to offer a certificate program for our employees who supervise others, entitled “Employment Essentials.” This nine-week series offers in-depth learning for all supervisors, from first time supervisors or managers new to the campus to seasoned leaders who seek to enhance their range of knowledge, skills, and abilities related to core Human Resource Employment competencies. The program covers topics such as Hiring & Selection Best Practices, Employee Leave (ADA, FMLA), Compensation and Classification Administration, Performance Management, and Employment Law basics.

The program is aimed at providing supervisors with the training, resources, and essential information they need to excel in their positions and to adhere to employment compliance standards and best practices. The sessions facilitate opportunities to learn collaboratively with peers from across campus.

Upon completion of the entire series, which can be completed through in-person and e-learning options (available later this year), employees will receive a certificate to document the achievement. Individuals can complete certificate requirements by attending in-person courses, online coursework, or combination of both types of instruction.

Spring Series: February 5 – April 9

Summer Series: June 5 – August 7

Fall Series: September 17 – November 12
