Note: Boise State University's current harassment prevention training is not compatable with screen reader software or other adaptive technology devices. If you need accomodations to complete the harassment prevention training, call Human Resource Services at 208-426-1616.
Human Resource Services encourages all managers and supervisors to review and become familiar with the harassment-prevention training program. Managers and supervisors should also be aware that this is a paid time activity. No employee should be expected to complete the training on their own time. Staff should allocate approximately 45 minutes of quiet, uninterrupted time to complete the training.
Who Should Complete the Harassment Prevention Training?
The following employees are required to take harassment-prevention training:
- benefit-eligible employees
- adjunct faculty
- teachers
These employees will be notified that they need to complete the training when they complete their I-9. They will receive a Compliance Notification Form with instructions that they must complete the training within two weeks from receiving this notice.
What if the Employee does not Complete the Training?
- First Reminder - If the employee does not complete the training within two weeks from receiving notification during the I-9 process, a reminder notice will be sent to their supervisor or department chair.
- Second Reminder - If the employee does not complete the training within two weeks of receiving notification from their supervisor, a reminder notice will be sent to their department’s vice president or the university president. If the employee is a faculty, a notice will be sent to their dean.
- Third Reminder (faculty only) – If the faculty member does not complete the training within two weeks of receiving notification from their dean, a final reminder will be sent to the Provost.
There are Two Training Modules, Which One Should I Take?
- Supervisors - If you supervise one or more employees including students, you will need to complete the training for managers.
- Faculty/Adjunct Faculty/Teachers – You will need to take the training for managers.
- Non-supervisors – You will need to take the training for non-supervisors.
Where should I send my completed harassment prevention
