Infant / Toddler Teacher

Full time (9 month contract)

The Children's Center (NAEYC Accredited) at Boise State University invites applications for the position of Infant/Toddler Teacher. Full teaching responsibilities include assisting in planning, developing and implementing the overall and daily classroom curriculum goals and objectives as well as adhere to NAEYC guidelines and criteria. The Teacher is responsible and accountable to maintain relationships with the children, families, and staff in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the supervision of student employees. This includes on-the-job training and evaluation of assigned work study students, teacher assistants and volunteers
• Assist Lead teacher in regularly assessing and recording strengths and needs of individual children; plan and implement activities accordingly
• Assist Lead Teacher in planning, developing and implementing the overall and daily classroom curriculum goals and objectives
• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and executing appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for assigned group of infants to six year old children
• Assist Lead Teacher in on-the-job training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned work study students, teacher aides and volunteers
• Assist Lead Teacher in preparing and posting weekly lesson plans
• Assume Lead Teacher responsibilities in their absence

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Early Childhood Education and be a current member of the Idaho STARS Professional Development System. They will possess strong organizational as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The preferred candidate will have the ability to define problems and work towards practical solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• CDA or equivalent (equivalent is 12 college credit in Early Childhood education, Child Development Family Studies or similar field)
• Two years teaching experience with Infants and Toddlers
• Possession of or ability to obtain Boise City Child Care license upon hire.
• Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

Salary and Benefits

• Minimum Salary: $13,860.00
