Boise State University seeks an individual to oversee the development, management, and evaluation of a university-wide research compliance program. The successful candidate will develop education, monitoring, and policy initiatives to ensure a proactive culture that encourages commitment to compliance. The Director will monitor existing research ethics and compliance activities, and establish institutional expectations and responsibilities to ensure compliance activities are incorporated into routine higher education practices.
The scope of this position covers all university basic and applied research, including human subjects, animal care and use, conflict of interest, misconduct in science, ethics, compliance training and education, and risk assessment.
The Director will provide guidance and problem resolution to investigators and support personnel in the application of relevant Federal, State and University laws, regulations, and guidelines; will coordinate ad-hoc research compliance committee activities; will direct and manage the day-to-day administration of the Office of Research Compliance. This position reports to the Vice President of Research.
The successful candidate will have at minimum a Bachelor's degree, and preferably a Master's or equivalent in a related field, and a minimum of two years prior experience in establishing, maintaining, overseeing and evaluating a comprehensive research compliance program at an institution of higher education; mediation skills; a comprehensive knowledge of government regulations pertaining to research compliance.
