Associate Director, Facilities Maintenance

BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY invites qualified individuals

to apply for the position of Associate Director for Facilities Maintenance
in the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Department
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations and Maintenance, the Associate
Director is responsible for assisting with administration of the department,
including strategic and budgetary planning, developing new initiatives, and implementing
operational improvements. This position is also primarily responsible for
direction, organization, and management of the facilities maintenance division;
which includes the supervision of managerial personnel who direct the work of
full time staff employed in the maintenance and construction trades, and various
outside contractors. The Associate Director will provide high levels of
customer satisfaction, while insuring that campus systems are reliable and facilities
are maintained in the best condition possible. In addition, this position
is responsible for the management of utility systems and energy conservation
efforts on campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Seven years of experience in a related field including the following:
- Progressively responsible senior level management experience in planning, organizing, and directing a diverse workforce involved in the maintenance of a large multi-facility, multi-client building complex.
- Experience managing and supervising personnel including: hiring, training, work assignment, setting expectations and evaluating performance as well as the ability to motivate employees and maintain good morale.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experience managing a substantial budget in a university or other large organizational environment. This includes the ability to create and evaluate analytical approaches and financial models for use in resource allocation.
- Experience developing and managing an effective large scale energy conservation program.
- Must lead by example and be committed to a respectful, collaborative, and open work environment which values teamwork, ethical conduct, and exemplary customer service.
- Thorough knowledge of utility design, operation, and maintenance, including testing procedures.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to effectively organize, and direct personnel during a crisis or emergency situation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical) or closely related field.
- Practical experience in one of the mechanical trades (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC).
- Certificate from APPA Institute for Facilities Management.
- Progressively responsible senior level management experience in higher education.

Salary and benefits: Salary is competitive and commensurate
with qualifications and experience; plus an excellent benefits package including
