Laboratory Research Scientist
Department of Geosciences
The Department of Geosciences at Boise State University seeks a Research Associate, starting Jan 1, 2010, to manage a newly established stable isotope laboratory.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Primary duties will include: operation and management of a suite of analytical instruments (stable isotope mass spec with Gasbench/Multiflow, EA, and TC/EA), supervising and training students, and helping execute research activities in geochemistry, hydrology and ecology.
- Secondary duties will include: assisting in curriculum delivery of methods-oriented courses and possibly contributing to the research endeavor through grant writing and peer-reviewed publication.
At a minimum you should have:
- Master’s degree in Stable Isotope Geochemistry or Biogeochemistry or equivalent professional experience.
- Four years laboratory experience (including graduate training)
- A demonstrated expertise in stable isotope analytical techniques.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Ph.D. in Geochemistry or Biogeochemistry.
- Experience in lab management and a record of research and peer-reviewed publication in stable isotope geochemistry.
