Coordinator: Theses, Dissertations, and Fellowship Programs
The Graduate College at Boise State University has an open half-time professional staff position for a Coordinator of Theses, Dissertations, and Fellowship Programs. This position reports to the Dean of the Graduate College or designee, involves close cooperation with the staff of the Graduate College and the Library, and interacts extensively with graduate students and their faculty advisors across a broad spectrum of disciplines. A strong applicant will possess the following qualities:
- An understanding of the modern editing/publishing industry, electronic media and web applications sufficient to work with technical experts, and copyright laws and procedures
- The ability to advise students as necessary in the use of diverse publishing and editing software
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized, and able to work effectively across organizational boundaries
- A basic knowledge of scholarly publication, especially theses and dissertations, and the structure and traditions of graduate education
Responsibilities:
- Final processing of theses and dissertations (including development of electronic submission and open access policies and procedures)
- Management of graduate fellowship programs administered by the Graduate College
- Occasional special projects
Minimum Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree or equivalent professional experience
- Two years applicable experience in writing, editing, or publishing in a professional or educational setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree with thesis requirement or equivalent scholarly/writing experience
Salary and Benefits:
This professional staff position is 0.5 FTE (12 months, 20 hours per week, flexibly scheduled) with an annual salary of $17,254 and full benefits.
