Assistant Professor Of Digital Media Production

Department Of Communication

Beginning Fall Semester, 2010

The Department of Communication at Boise State University seeks an assistant professor in digital media production/design, to teach in areas such as digital video production; audio design; multimedia; interactive media;  web design; streaming/distribution technologies.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to teach courses in his/her areas of interest and specialization such as media theory, effects, analysis, and criticism. In addition to fulfilling his/her teaching duties, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research and publication. The department is committed to the balanced integration of theory and practice in the teaching, professional, and community activities of its faculty.

The department has 18 full-time faculty and enrolls more than 700 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate students annually. In our research and teaching we are strongly committed to providing students with a broad-based education in the complex processes of interaction and meaning-making. Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a completed doctorate or MFA by August 2010. Applicants must also demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level and in scholarly research.
