Assistant/Associate Professor

Computer Science Department


The Department of Computer Science at Boise State University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the assistant- or associate-professor level.  Candidates specializing in the areas of databases, software engineering, and visualization are especially encouraged to apply.  Applicants in other areas will be considered.

Our undergraduate and graduate students enjoy a strong reputation in local industry, which includes Micron Technology, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft-Boise, Clearwater Analytics, Keynetics, MarkMonitor and numerous other high-tech companies.  The Boise metropolitan area is home to nearly 400 software companies. 

Minimum Requirements:  An earned Ph.D. in computer science is required by the date of hire.  Successful candidates will be expected to make balanced contributions in both teaching and research and to coordinate with faculty and local industry to develop and sustain funded research programs.
