Assistant Professor of Zoology

Department of Biological Sciences


Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Zoology.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in Introductory Zoology and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, and to develop an upper division/graduate course in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to develop an externally-funded research program which will complement research of faculty members in the department (http://www.boisestate.edu/biology/faculty.htm).  Boise State University has a strong history of providing quality education and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.  In keeping with this tradition, the successful candidate will be expected to teach classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to direct research projects of both biology undergraduates and Master’s-level graduate students. 

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. and postdoctoral or equivalent experience

The deadline for applications is December 1, 2009.  We anticipate that finalists will be invited for campus interviews to be held in February/March of 2010.
