Materials Chemist And Biochemist


The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Boise State University invites applications from candidates for two tenure-track positions beginning Fall 2008. The Materials Chemist (search #AS-0009-78) should have a PhD in organic or inorganic chemistry and research interests in polymer or materials chemistry. The Biochemist (search #AS-0012-78) should have a PhD and research interests in the field of biomolecular sciences. Outstanding candidates will be considered at the rank of Assistant Professor. In the biochemistry area, we will also consider appointment at the Associate Professor level. For more information, see http://chemistry.boisestate.edu. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an externally funded research program and to provide leadership in both research and teaching at the undergraduate level and in developing graduate programs. The College of Engineering offers an M.S. degree in Materials Science (http://coen.boisestate.edu/MSE/) and plans include an M.S. degree in Chemistry and Ph.D. degrees in both Biomolecular Sciences and Materials Science to begin in the near-term. We are particularly interested in candidates who can facilitate strong research and teaching collaborations among chemists, biologists, physicists, material scientists and engineers, as appropriate.
