Intensive English Tutor

Boise State University invites interested applicants to apply for the position of Intensive English Tutor (part-time, temporary positions).  The Intensive English tutor will offer individual sessions for interested tenure track faculty members who are non-native English speakers. The aim is to expand faculty language skills for technical writing, grant proposals, conference presentations, journals, lab manuals, lectures and other forms of communication. A secondary focus would be pronunciation to aid in lecture and presentation delivery.

*Work Hours: Contact time would be 2 hours per week per faculty member.

Minimum Requirements:
A Master's degree in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or a related field and experience teaching, as well as native fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

*A background in ESL education and/or extensive experience with multi-cultural learners.

*An understanding of  higher education publishing culture.

*High level academic writing and editing skills.

 

Salary and Benefits:  Part-time temporary position rate of $18.00 per hour.
